The Kaduna State Police Commissioner has called on members of the Civilian Joint Task Force CJTF in Kaduna State to be disciplined and law abiding. The commissioner made the call during the inauguration of a new office of the CJTF in Unguwan Muazu Bypass Kaduna.
The Commissioner who was represented by the Divisional Police officer of Kabala West SP Abdulkareem Umar said as a volunteer organisation, discipline is required if they must achieve their goals.
” I will always emphasis the importance of discipline and respecting hierarchy, your job is to assist the Police and I’m very glad because CJTF is doing a very good job” he said.
In his remarks, the comptroller general of CJTF Prof. Kailani Mohammed who gave a brief history of the organisation said so far Borno State has lost over 4000 CJTF in the fight against terrorism.
He pledged the commitment of the group to continue assisting the Police and other security agencies so that peace can be achieved noting that CJTF has over 13 million personnel.
“the CJTF had sacrificed so much for this country, over 4000 of CJTF members lost there lives in Borno in an effort to protect the unity and integrity of the country” he said.
“Are we going to allow terrorists to take over our country? It will never happen that is why we need the support of the public to succeed” Kailani said.
In his remarks Dr. Auwal Abdullahi who is the deputy Comptroller General of CJTF advised the members to work in synergy and collaborate with the Police and other agencies.
“You must work in synergy with other security agencies like the Police and the Military, this organisation is a very important organisation because it is recognised globally in terms of it’s support”. He said.
Highlights of the occasion was inspection of guard of honour, parade and the official unveiling of the New office.
